After taking pictures off and on over many years, I began working with photography as a means of artistic expression in 2015. Focusing on fine art photography has become a way to examine aspects of being human and share them with others. It is one of my two speaking voices (the one that doesn't use vocal chords).
Currently, my work explores aspects of human vulnerability. Confronted by frailty through aging, deciphering dating as an adult or just experiencing the raw aspects life as we do, while at times uncomfortable, is all undeniably human. It reveals what we would otherwise not choose to - that despite our wiring or desire to be invincible and ever powerful, we simply are not. Turning the camera on myself, I attempt to show and share those moments as something that once examined, can be understood and left aside without remorse -- experienced and finite.
I have been honored to have some of my work selected for these juried shows:
- Arts Center East - Open Show 2016
- Vermont Center of Photography - Open Show 2016
- Art Intersection - Light Sensitive 2017
- Dark Room Gallery - Black, White (& Blue) 2017
